How do you clean Roman shades?
Hunter Douglas Roman shades are specially designed to require minimal care and cleaning. This could include:
- Dusting: regular light dusting will help maintain your shades, however, do not use magnetic cleaners such as a dusting mitt on light-dimming fabrics as it may damage the light-dimming backing.
- Vacuuming: Vacuum your shades gently using the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
- Blowing: You can also use a can of compressed air or a hair dryer set to no-heat to blow off dust.
What are the benefits of Roman Shades?
Roman shades make a great alternative to curtains. They are easier to clean and allow you different style options such as classic folds, flat folds, room-darkening or light-filtering, and top-down/bottom-up opening and closings.
What is the difference between room-darkening and blackout?
Semi-opaque and opaque fabrics will darken a room but not entirely eliminate light. Blackout window treatments block out as much natural light as possible, however, nothing can completely eliminate incoming light as there are almost always slight light gaps.
