Huge Selection of Bathroom Tiles
Graham’s and Son has a huge selection of highly durable, beautifully crafted bathroom tiles to complement any decor. Graham’s & Son proudly partners with Centura, a uniquely equipped Canadian company that provides floor and wall materials for both residential and commercial clients, to bring you the highest quality, beautifully styled tiles for your bathroom renovation. Centura is one of the most experienced and trusted flooring companies in Canada, which is why we choose to deal with them. Their wide selection of tiles includes ceramic, porcelain, glass, and natural stone options.
Ceramic Tiles
Ceramic tiles are made from a mixture of clay, minerals, and water. They are fired at high temperatures. If they are glazed then they have been treated with a liquid glass coating and fired once more. This forms a hard surface which is resistant to stains and scratches.

Pros
Ceramic tile is affordable, looks beautiful, and is the perfect choice for bathrooms, interior walls, and lower traffic interior floors. It is quite durable and very easy to install. It is a great choice to match almost any decor as it comes in almost any colour or design you can imagine.
Cons
Ceramic tile is not as durable as porcelain, however, so it’s not a good option for high traffic areas. When purchasing make sure you order enough as the colours can vary from lot to lot and if you have to get more you may not be able to get an exact match. Although most ceramic tiles are quite reasonably priced, the more “artistic” tiles can be very expensive.
Porcelain Tiles
Porcelain tile is a mixture of dense natural clay, minerals, and finely ground sand. These are pressed together and fired at a much higher temperature and for a longer time than ceramic tiles which removes almost all of the water content. Glazed porcelain tiles have been coated with a resistant finish which gives the tile and its design added protection from stains and moisture.

Pros
Porcelain tile looks beautiful and is extremely durable. It’s even more durable than ceramic tile. Because of this, it is a great choice for high traffic areas and it can also be used outdoors. It is incredibly easy to clean and comes in a wide variety of styles and colours.
Cons
Porcelain tiles do require a special setting material made especially for non-porous materials when they are being installed. It is a good idea to check with the manufacturer to ensure you purchase the correct adhesive. Graham’s & Son can provide you with professional installers who are expertly trained to install your new tiles correctly and perfectly so that you don’t need to worry.
Glass Tiles
Glass tiles are thin pieces of glass which may be sold individually or attached together on a mesh backing. Sometimes the glass tiles will be combined with other types of tile, such as marble, to form a mosiac.

Pros
Glass tiles are extremely colourful, reflective, and are also very easy to clean. They are a great option for decorating walls or backsplashes. They can give a real “wow” factor with their wide range of colours and designs. Some types of glass tile are also designed for flooring.
Cons
Depending on the style you choose, some glass tiles can be expensive. They are also difficult to install. You need a lot of skill to achieve a professional final look because the adhesive can be seen through the transparent glass. But don’t let that put you off. We will install your glass tiles perfectly and professionally for you.
Natural Stone Tiles
Natural stone tiles are made from actual stone which has been cut into thin, regular sized pieces. They can be made from slate, sandstone, marble, granite, travertine, onyx, as well as many other types of stone.
Pros
If you choose natural stone tiles, you will have a unique, one-of-a-kind look, which can be beautiful on walls, backsplashes or floors. You can also achieve the look of solid granite but save money by using granite tiles instead of a slab for your counter tops.
Cons
Natural stone tiles do need a bit more maintenance than the other types of tile. They can be damaged through exposure to water, pigment, or acid so they need to be sealed when they are installed and resealed every 10 years. As long as they are properly sealed, though, they are quite durable.
